Day 5
I did not go to school until 9:00 this morning because i am trying to catch up on some sleep and get overcome this head cold i have. When i went into Ms. Hildebrand's classroom there were no students, so i checked in Mr. Jensen's class where everyone was. I opened the door and all the kids began to clap and cheer! It was very welcoming. The kids were sitting in Mr. Jensen's classroom on the floor, in a circle, around a pile of rocks. Each student from Ms. H's class was assigned a rock and they had to describe what it looked like on a piece of paper. Then the papers with the descriptions written on them were handed out to students in Mr. J's class and those students needed to find the rock that was described on their paper. Then the roles switched and Mr. J's students wrote descriptions about their rocks and handed the papers out to students in Ms. H's class. When this was over, it was snack time and the students returned to their assigned classrooms. After snack, Ms. Hildebrand's class had computer class. In computer class every student needed to find 2 pictures of their chosen thing in clip art. Some of the things that students picked were: gangsters, pig with wings, Bubbafet from Star Wars, giant Yo-yo, king on a throne etc. The students will be drawing the pictures that they found on the computer sometime next week. When we returned to class there was time for one game of Boggle. The class was trying to beat their high score of 18 words. Ms. Hildebrand wrote the letters on the board and the students raised their hands to call out the words. They tied their score of 18 words and then it was time for lunch! I left at lunch time and came back to my room to rest. I cannot wait for Monday, so i can be with the kids again!

What a busy and hectic week! I MUST SAY that you are a 'natural', Trenny! You may feel tired, you may feel under the weather...but you give your best to the students and let them know you are interested and involved. It is great having you in class! Now that some of the 'CRAZY' stuff is behind us, we can work more calmly next week - when we only have a special art project, finishing Fairy Tales, reading them to other students, a hike, science experiments and ALL the other academics!
ReplyDeletePiece of cake! : ) Have a great weekend. I hope you feel much better soon.
